The Book of Lies

The book of Lies is about 4 orphans, Robert (Marcel), Nichole (Catherine), Fergus and Bea. These orphans have had names created for them, by the Book of Lies. Robert has had a name created by a book. 4 hooded strangers arrived at the door of Mrs Finnigus. She collects the boy and the hooded figures leave. Lord Awayn places the Book of Lies in front of the sleeping child so that he does not remember who he is, or where he came from. Nichole has had the same thing happen to her but she arrives a few days before. Robert finds his true name from Bea and then his whole life falls into place. Princess Catherine, Prince Marcel, Prince Fergus and Granddaughter of the Elvish-King Long Beard, are all tied together in one story. How will they find out the truth? Who will tell them? Why is Prince Marcel afraid of a large, savage looking-cat called Temptus? Has this got anything to do with King Pelham and Lord Awayn? Is the horse called 'Wild Beast' have a connection with the Book of Lies as she can grow wings? All of these answers come from the Book of Lies and its creater!

Dr Suess once said...

Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.
A person's a person, no matter how small!

The Golden Compass

The Golden Compass is about a young girl by the name of Lyra and her daemon Pan. These two adventurous pair has been caught in a world with magic, and Polar Bears. Lyra meets a bear named Iorek. Lyra has tricked the King of bears, Ifour Raknison into believing that she is a daemon. Iorek defeats Ifour and becomes the King of the Bears. Lyra has a device, called the Golden Compass. It is a truth-teller or an alethiometer. This is a wonderful book and Philip Pullman had constructed it well. I believe that everyone should read it!

The New School Atmosphere

The door swung inward. I stood and breathed
The new school atmosphere.

We moved in from a town, in the country.
Not, as if anyone knew where it was.
I knew that it would be hard to make friends because,
Everybody, who was a somebody, knew everybody. Where we came from

I wasn’t here by myself. There were three of us.
Julia, was 12, I just turned 13. And Jack, well Jack, he was also 13.
Luckily, we were all in the same class.

We were all nervous. Jack was on my left, and Julia, on my right.
This was the way that we enter any school. Hand-in-hand.
As we walked, we felt like there were a million eyes staring at us.
We were kind of use to it by now.

We were like a team, Julia had the Brains, Jack had the style
While, I was outgoing, and the leader.

Our first class was English. I wasn’t good at that.
Julia was good at Maths, and also hated English.
While Jack was the best, we always copied his answers

We had a teacher called: Mrs. Roberston
She looked kind and generous, luckily, she didn’t ask us any questions.
We stuck together all day, what else would we do?

When we got to our knew home, I stopped and breathed
It smelt and felt like home.
I knew that we would enjoy being here.

The World is a Beautiful Place!

Can you hear the lorikeets or, the water rippling down the stream, how about, the animals talking to each other? These are some of the most beautiful things in the world.
There are many beautiful things, some, man-made and others natural. Diamonds, Rubies and Emeralds are found underground. We have to dig them up. In the sun, they shine like a rainbow, glitter like the clear stream and sound like the humming birds.
Pearls are found under the sea surface, in oysters. When you hold a pearl, they shine like the ocean, sound like the rippling waves and feel like the soft, cool breeze.
Nature can bring you fantastic beauty. Found in all parts of the world, there are many treasures to behold.
The springs in the rainforests, are trickling down their path, and fall down dramatically as they become the waterfall. Down, down, down, they go and start trickling once they hit the bottom.
