Senior Year of High School

Write an analysis of the way the advertisement “Senior Year of High School” which we discussed in class positions the reader to view growing up. You could consider the following:
1. The target audience
2. Use of language and visuals
3. The values, ideas and attitudes embedded in the text. I suggest that you also try a couple of strategies to improve the quality of your written work. Firstly, try reading what you write every couple of sentences. Don't wait until you have finished to read over your work. Secondly, try reading each sentence aloud. In the advertisement, “Senior Year of High School,” there are values, ideas and attitudes, which position the reader to view growing up positively.  The graduating student provides hope to those still on that path. It’s the idea of moving forward; being able to choose your own path makes growing up a big possibility. Targeting the parents of the High School students, the advertisement uses simple language to entice the parents take away its wisdom about the possibilities and the temptations. The attitudes towards teenagers expresses how growing up will provide greater opportunities and its expectations from the teenager. As this is a large part of their life, the advertisement includes information about safe alternatives and how parents can still be apart of this experience. Through the use of values, ideas and attitudes, this advertisement proves growing up is a positive experience.
