This is my very first story that I wrote in grade 7!
It was a windy day outside the cosy home, which sat in the country. Inside the house Lysander was getting very impatient with all of the others.
“Hurry up you three!” boomed Lysander.
“Yes, yes. We’re coming!” answered Emma. There were four children in the Bloor family. Lysander was the oldest with Emma next in line, and then Manfred who gets his nose into everything! While Olivia, sweet little Olivia was the most boisterous of them all.
“Don’t be so picky!” shouted Olivia as she sprinted towards Lysander, he stretched his arm out and Olivia stopped dead in her tracks within 3 millimetres of his arm.
“Fooled you, again!” sniggered Lysander.
“I’d like to fool you one day,” said Manfred, as he walked out of his room.
“Yea, yea. I still fool you better than anyone else! Come on Em, I’m sure that we all want to go canoeing!” There were groans from the two younger children.
“Okay, okay, don’t be such a bossy boots!” shouted Emma, she walked out of her room. The Bloor children said goodbye to their mamma and papa, they all walked outside with coats on.
The canoes were sitting beside Lake Igraine. Manfred and Lysander jumped into one, while the girls climbed gracefully into another. The lake glittered in the morning sunlight. The mist began to roll in and soon they could barely see their hands in front of their faces! As they floated into the current, they all stared straight ahead, as if they had seen a ghost. There was a tumble as the water began to ripple. Emerging from the water was a large and strange island forest that was surrounded by water! This forest was sparkling like a million stars in the night sky.
“Wow,” gasped the children in unison.
“Let’s go in and explore!” piped young Olivia. They all nodded their heads in agreement.
As they paddled towards the forest, they felt like there were a thousand eyes staring at them.
“This place is getting creepy,” squeaked Olivia, “let’s go.”
“Who goes there?” there was some whispering from the trees. “Yes, are you saying that these are the Bloor children that will us drive away the evil campsite!”
Another voice cried, “you must not leave us here to die!” The children looked at each other.
The other voice came back this time a more softer and calmer. “Please help us; we are all in desperate need of kind hearted people like you! Don’t leave, we beg you!” The voice was ringing in Lysander’s ears.
“What do you want with us?” shouted Lysander into the dark forest. As he stood up the boat began to rock.
“Sit back down Lysander!” hissed Manfred, “we’ll tip over!” Lysander did as Manfred suggested.
“Who are you?” questioned Lysander, “Why can’t we see you?”
“You cannot see me because you don’t want to see me. Close your eyes and picture a Tiger. Done? Now, open your eyes.” said the voice.
There were gasps all around from the children, on the shore of the forest, there was a beautiful coloured unicorn. He or she (they did not know which) was standing on the shore. The unicorns body looked sleek and smooth, and the colouring was orangey-gold. This colour shined in to sunlight. The children were amazed at this unique colouring.
“Come on!” shouted the unicorn, “everybody is waiting.” The children were still stunned, then a voice broke their thoughts, “we haven’t got all day, move along now.” The canoes touched the shore with a little jerk.
“Sorry, how clumsy of me, my name is Lancelot, and your names must be Lysander, Emma, Manfred and Olivia.” She nosed each of the children as she said their names. “The council meeting is going to be held. So far they have captured err......... I’m no good with numbers....... 15........that’s it, 20 of us already!” Lancelot looked very serious.
“Don’t worry,” said Em as she stroked the great unicorn’s neck, “we’ll help you.” With this, the unicorn neighed very loudly.
When they arrived at the meeting, Olivia thought “This is the most boring thing I have done in my life!” She kept squirming as she sat on the ground.
Her brothers said crossly “Be Still!”
She heard that they were going to attack the enemy campsite early tomorrow morning! She became very excited. After the meeting was finished, the children were escorted back to their tent by Lancelot. There were guard animals everywhere.
An hour before dawn, Lysander started to wake Emma up first, but, she was already awake and sitting outside. After they woke the other two sleepy heads, they had breakfast. The two older children chose the sword and the two youngsters chose the bow and arrow. The whole camp set off for the fight that would end everything.
Three tigers that carried a branch that was on fire in their mouths. The evil tents were full of sleeping bodies and the distant sound of snoring could be heard. The tigers walked down each tent and placed the flame. As the tents started to ignite the people inside ran out within minutes. One of the magical animal stumbled on some nearby armour lying on the ground! Oh NO! All of the snoring stopped! The animals tensed! Within seconds, out came screaming soldiers from inside the tents.
The battle was very short. The animals didn’t kill the people but drove them away. Then, they heard some chitter chatters. The captured animals were freed and reunited with their families. A huge happy and loud party was held that night. Unfortunately, the Bloor children could not attend. As they silently scrambled down to their canoes, they heard a crunch. Behind them was....... Lancelot! The children said goodbye to the unicorn and left the shores of that Sparkling Forest, as they drifted into the current, they saw Lancelot nodding goodbye.
The children returned home to find their parents were not worried because they had only been absent for a few hours.
“At least all of the magical animals are safe for now,” commented Olivia. The others agreed and their dreams were all about their very magical adventure.

Shakespeare
The following is an example of what Year 7's did in English!
Shakespeare’s Romantic Comedies are not silly love stories. He created humour from the highs and lows of love.
Shakespeare wrote 17 Comedies, and majority of them have romance in the story line. I will be concentrating on the play, Much Ado About Nothing (MAAN) written in 1598 – 1599.
MAAN is today still an intriguing and mysterious play. It is also relevant today because people are still subject to human emotions, including, love, hate, jealously and joy. He created real places and people and in the confined offered by the natures of plays. He developed very complex interactions between them with brilliant, witty conversations or actions.
Today, Mills and Boon cheap love stories will not be here with in 400 years. Why do you ask? These stories are 1-dimensional.
Shakespeare used words and actions to build-up the connection between all characters. He has used a lot of different types of love, which makes the experience an unusual one. The men in this play even have love in their group, not only for girls, but also for their brothers in arms. He has also used the different love styles to create humour. The love between Leonato and Hero is very strong because they are father and daughter. He used a different type of love between Hero and Claudio as they were falling in love at first sight. (Marriage is a trap for people who want to be trapped.)
Whereas, Beatrix and Benedick are always at verbal war, and Shakespeare used deception war to create peace, harmony and love with each other.

The Road not Taken, Robert Frost - Poetry Analysis
The Road Not Taken
Robert Frost
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The experience or subject about this poem is about decisions. In life, there are many decisions that need choices. Robert Frost is telling us that all of our decisions in life can have a large impact on us, later. I know that this poem is about decisions because “two roads diverged in a yellow wood,” the ‘two roads’ are two different choices.
The purpose of this story is to teach young children about how decisions can affect themselves. For example: If you make a wrong decision for the company (that you are working for), you could lose your job or worse. The poet wants us to know about life and what he went through.
The emotion in this poem is very strange, as it is about choices. The emotions, that the poem gives us, are excited and sad. The poet is excited because he has taken a decision that suited him. He is sad because he did not take the road that was a more common decision and he may not ever go back to that same spot. It is shown in this line, “I doubted if I should ever come back,” this explains that the poet does not know if that particular choice was the correct one, for himself.
Robert Frost’s technique is unique because he uses a lot of adjectives and old English, which is hard to comprehend, for example “and both that morning equally lay.” He was probably talking about universitary or job/s decision. He is telling this poem from his own experiences and it has a great effect on the reader. He is using his own experiences to tell other people about life and choices that it brings.
The poet has used some sounds to help entrance the reader. For example “I shall be telling this with a sigh,” he means that there were a few things that did not happen the way that he wanted, but, he still believes that he did the best thing for himself.
The poem is very well written and has a strong, but simple meaning. This poem has achieved its purpose and I shall take more time and care to when it comes to making large decisions, as I want to do as Robert Frost has done for himself.

At the moment, we are not doing much at school, in English. I have been enjoying my time with the class work this year, and I hope that I enjoy the work that we do next year. We did: The Silver Donkey (Term 1), The Dark Hills Divide (Term 2), Poetry (Term 3) and now we are not doing anything. We are creating a board game.

Monshadow, Book two, is the best book that I have ever read! It is about martial arts, and fighting. I love these stuff because I find the techniques that the writers use is entrancing!!!

I really enjoy English because I can express myself with words, feelings and actions. I espically love writing stories. I chose a theme and decided on what the characters personality is like. I wish to become a writer when I grow up.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I am really enjoying my book at the moment. I love reading non-fiction book (expically Harry Potter) because it extends my brain understanding and compacity! I also love them because they are not full of facts that I need to learn/know, and I don't have to memorise it!
Harry Potter is doing really well at the present moment! He has just given Professor Dumbleldore the memory from Slughorn!
